ALUMNI SPEAK

The best part of my experience at St Pauls was getting to learn each module from working professionals who actually taught us the reality of how the media industry works and through the experiences which they shared we got a glimpse of actual work before even starting out. I joined the institute for a journalism course but it also taught us many other subjects like photography, video editing, graphic designing, and much more which were really exciting as well. The other good thing about this institute is the way almost all the teachers are very friendly and dedicated to their work, they will entertain all your doubts and help out in every way possible. The institute also helped me out in getting an internship at a digital news network and later a job at a newspaper as a civic reporter. Infact even now I contact my teachers sometimes if I need any professional help and they are always ready to help. I’m really thankful to all the teaching and non teaching staff for being a strong support throughout my course.

St Pauls Institute Review
My PGDM at SPICE in Public Relations and Corporate Communications consisted of projects based on evaluation and most importantly, faculty connect. The Faculty helped me enhance my interpersonal and academic skills and opened up different media industry facets. I would highly recommend this course to anyone wanting to join the media industry.
I cannot overstate the importance of the course. It has been invaluable to me.
Full Props to Margaret Ma'am and Team.

Creative Director at 3N Studios.

My journey at SPICE was quite magical.
I felt lost after my graduation in Mass Media. I happened to come across courses at St Pauls, and paying heed the guidance as to what all is on offer, I enrolled myself for a PG course in Advertising & IMC which I used to give shape to my career as per my interests. Over time, during the course, I gained a lot of knowledge and practical strategies that benefited me personally and professionally. Studies were not just theoretical but also practical and this exposure made me aware and ready to face the challenges that came my way.
The scenario was comforting, not limiting myself to the classroom but also participating in various events and activities that took place, which helped me be more confident. Not forgetting the faculty team who were so reassuring -my every doubt and decision were analysed and backed by them - and most importantly their observations and work experience added up to the right kind of exposure needed.
My journey at SPICE is now a beautiful cherished memory.

Monil Shah ( Advertising Batch 2018-2019 )

Project Manager McCann Mumbai

In my five months with The Times of India, I have observed that the media industry today wants variety. Variety in beats, variety in perspective and variety in interest levels. If it wasn’t for St. Pauls, I would  not have been able to cover an array of events and topics like politics, education, court, crime, environment and health. The professors at St Pauls not only helped us explore every beat, making us all-  rounders, but also helped instil in us the curiosity required for this profession. Joining St Pauls has been my best decision till date.

One big plus point of the course at SPICE is that the professionals who teach the students at SPICE are currently active in their respective fields, which helps students relate to the field as it is today and gives you a realistic idea of what working as a journalist is like. With the production of an in house-newspaper and magazine, you also learn the importance of teamwork, which I have always kept in mind. I  always remember “no empty sentences

St Pauls is the place where I first got acquainted with advertising and marketing (Adv & IMC) as a post-graduate student. Thanks to the professors there, I instantly fell in love with it.

As a newcomer to Mumbai city, St Pauls offered me a family-like feeling and warmth I didn't even have to ask for. This is also where I became more aware of my capabilities and learnt how to channel them well. The best part about the curriculum - apart from the admirable teaching faculty - is that there are no exams, but just a wide range of assignments, giving you a hint of what's waiting out there for you to take on.

The course at SPICE proved to be a wonderful learning experience for me, by putting me in situations that made me deal with my insecurities and fears and come out feeling more confident and experienced. The wonderful faculty also ensures that each student’s difficulties and problems are understood and seem to. I, therefore, found myself enjoying even the most challenging parts of the course, and am happy that the training and knowledge I have received over nine months will stay with me forever.

Claudelle Mariola Monis ( Batch 2012- 2013 )

Cultural Officer, Consulate General of Israel

We started with the basics; I will never forget the initial lectures in which we got a detailed understanding of news. We also gained first-hand news experience with our student paper, SPICE Enquirer – The Activist. The City Reporting module helped me explore Mumbai. a city to which I was a newcomer. With our Law and Media classes, I was able to enter the ATS Office and the Police Commissioner’s office.  While working on a documentary, I got an insight into the lives of the underprivileged and marginalized. During the broadcast module, I became more camera friendly and interviewed politicians. SPICE has brought me to a point where I can proudly call myself a journalist.

Santia Gora ( Batch 2013- 2014 )
